Forrest Memorial Christian Center, COGIC

Forrest Memorial Christian Center C.O.G.I.C, admired by many as the “small church with a big heart and great anointing” has been serving the Lord for nearly 40 years!

In 1977, Evangelist B.J. Forrest was led by the Spirit to the Tracy Church of God in Christ #2.  He subsequently changed the name to the Tracy Church of God in Christ, and finally Forrest Memorial Church of God in Christ.

In 1979, the Forrest Memorial Church of God in Christ charter application was submitted to the State of California and approved.  In 1986, Supt. B.J. Forrest moved the Forrest Memorial charter, along with his family to the Livingstone site in Pittsburg, CA.Striving to become great witnesses for the Lord outside of its four walls, Forrest Memorial immediately began their outreach through Forrest Fire Ministries: A Ministry of Helps, founded by Supt. B. J. Forrest.

Each year, Forrest Fire Ministries adopted up to 3 families within the Pittsburg/Antioch area, and provided temporary housing, food and clothing for each member. In 2002, after several years of donations and giveaways in addition to the Adopt-A-Family program, Supt. Forrest charted Forrest Fire Ministries as an official charitable arm of Forrest Memorial Christian Center C.O.G.I.C, reaching families across Contra Costa County. Every year, Forrest Memorial collaborates with Toy’s for Tots Program and Forrest and Associates Incorporated, and provides its own charitable drives and giveaways through Forrest Fire Ministries as a means to give back to the community.

Forrest Memorial believes in compelling  those who are lost to the redemption of the Cross through Christ–according to Luke 14:23, Mark 16:15, and Ezekiel 33:1-11–and reviving the hearts of the saints. Thus, The 5 Revival Series, is one of the greatest and most anticipated events hosted by Forrest Memorial throughout the year that has featured some of the most notable evangelists throughout the country.

Souls have been saved, reclaimed, healed, delivered, and set free under the anointing of the Holy Spirit that encamps within the hearts of its members, and Forrest Memorial is eager and anticipating more abundance and favor, as there is still a great work to be done.
